Indianapolis Colts Battle Falcons in German Capital – NFL Week 10
Guten tag, football fans. Wie gehts? Alles klar I trust on this fine morning kickoff to week 10 coming directly from Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the powerful Indianapolis Colts (seven wins and two losses) take on the Atlanta Falcons (three wins and five losses). The fifth game played on soil in Germany and the first in the capital city.
Pre-match Key Moments
As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A slight fluff from the broadcast team there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the commentator with an accidentally live microphone.
Well, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. Daniel Jones and company will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a rough one in Pittsburgh?
In a similar vein the singer belting out the Star Spangled Banner has some of the largest shoulder pads you are ever likely to see. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choir performance for the German anthem. Elegant.
First Quarter Action
Scoreless at 13:30 in the first
And we're off! And we have early drama after the Colts running back catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the recovery. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.
Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter
And the drama keeps coming as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The risk doesn't work out as the wide receiver fails to catch a quick pass from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt the Falcons defender put a massive tackle on the Colts' tight end. Atlanta's defense started strong as they try and snap their three-game losing streak. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!
Score Updates
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter
Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That moment reflects the high draft pick's professional journey to date.
So far, so disappointing but it only deteriorates for the Atlanta as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and fumbles the football.
A nifty 22-yard run from the Colts receiver sets Jonathan Taylor up to roll in for the score on the next snap. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Oops.
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter
Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a touchdown. Drake London makes some chunky receptions to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for the running back to run untouched into the end zone through the middle of the defense for 13 yards. The running back finishes it off for a one-yard touchdown of his own. Advantage Atlanta.

What a feast. I’m planting my flag on Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the top contest of the day.
